FOR EXAMPLE . . . Anak Nakal - trained by Nick Zito, who also trained the 2004 Belmont underdog, Birdstone. Birdstone posted an 85 Beyer figure in the 04 Derby, finishing eighth. Zito kept him out of the Preakness, gave him some rest, and he went on to put up an impressive Beyer of 101 at Belmont in June. Anaks Nakal's Beyers look similar to Birdstone's not to mention his father, the great Belmont winner, Victory Gallop. . . I dunno, everyone seems to be writing this horse off, but he was bred for distance, and Zito has made some smart moves with this horse. Let me know what ya think of my strategy, and give me some of your own. I wanna good trifecta, or a nicely valued show horse, but everyone and their brother is gonna bet on Big Brown, Casino Drive, and Denis of Cork, respectively. No one makes serious money on the chalks. Thanks in advance racing fans!
