  1. I am vegan.

I start out each day with 1 cup of fortified breakfast cereal.  I top that with 8 oz of Silk soy milk.  A piece of fruit is a bonus but I don't always have time for that.  I also cut banana up on top of it if I have any.

For lunch I have a Peanut butter sandwich on whole grain bread.  I use 2 servings of the peanut butter, which is about 4 level tablespoons.  Peanut butter is full of protein.

For dinner I make my family things like smart dogs and baked beans, macaroni/soy cheese/stewed tomatoes, chili/sloppy joes/tacos made with morningstar farms crumbles/ or spaghettie with meatless meatballs

fruit, nuts, fresh or cooked vegetables, and oatmeal make good snacks among other things.

The cereal and soy milk are places where I get a ton of my nutrients.  Also I get vitamin C by eating fortified fruit snacks.  Just make sure they don't contain gelatin.

The peanut butter and fake meat has a lot of protein.

I hope this helps.  If you have anymore questions you can e-mail me.

  2. The things that vegetarians really need is the obvious healthy eating of fruit and veg. But most important is trying to find out where you can get protein iron, calcium, protein, vitamin D, vitamin B12 and zinc from. Soya beans can usually help but you have to eat enough to get the daily amount of proteins you need. The thing is, becoming a vegetarian is easier than becoming a vegan. Being a vegetarian only involves in you trying to get the amount of proteins lost from not eating meat, replaced. Being vegan causes a lot of dietary changes.. Soya beans contain protein. Iron-fortified cereals contain iron, calcium is in milk and cheese, vitamin D is cows milk and sun light, Vitamin B12 is found in fortified soy milk and zinc is found in tofu and green leafy vegetables. Make sure you eat those.

  3. im vegetarian. i eat a lot off beans (high protien, fiber, low if any fat), a lot of fruits and veggies. i also drink milk and eat eggs. skim milk (what i drink) is full of calcium and protien but fat free.

  4. beans!

  5. you should try eating chicken and fish to help with protein and other vitamins and minerals. i myself have been doing that since i was 8. i was a real vegetarian before that.

  6. Well you don't have to avoid all meat to be healthy. I eat a lot of different types of Asian cooking such as Chinese, Indian, Thai, and also some Mediterranean cooking as well. I eat a lot of veggies no main meats just chicken, and rest seafood. Just do that maybe and see how it works...maybe this alternative might work...if not then talk to a dietitian about how to change properly to a vegan diet. A lot of Indian and Thai cooking have a lot of different types of vegan food...its really good too.
