  1. Be loud. That is one of the most important things in volleyball. My freshman year my coach told me I wasn't aggressive enough. This year I trained all summer and my coach says I'm the most improved player on the team. Call the ball and know that if you call it, it's yours. Don't be the kind of player that calls the ball but then backs off. Go for every ball. Stay low when passing and stay on your toes. At team camp this summer the college coaches told us they should be able to see light under your heels. Lift weights, do cardio, stretch, serve and hit against a wall, set to yourself, pass with a friend. Eat healthy and drink lots of water. Good luck!

  2. Get the ball over the net

  3. I'll give you tip's on trying-out but not necessary the skills since you didn't mention much.

Wear a bright colored shirt: With in a crowd of 20-30 girls who do you think is going to stand out. The girl in the plain white t-shirt or the girl in a neon bright pink shirt. Make the coach's focus on you and you'll get more recognition.

Be loud: Whether your saying "MINE" or "GOT IT" say it loud loud loud. If you've ever watched a volleyball game you can notice that the louder team usually wins the point's. Communication in volleyball is so important. Coach's are always looking for player's who already understand this type of stuff in volleyball and it just makes their job easier lol. Plus goes along with sticking out more. Might as well get into the habit of yelling if your going to be playing volleyball.

Hustle like your life depended on it: When you see an impossible ball that was shanked and everyone stands and stares at it, no hope. In volleyball game's I've jumped into bleacher's, tables to save shanked balls and yes we got those point's. To show you want the ball go after it. Even if you and everyone around you knows its impossible to at least bump it back to the court. Dive and touch that ball. Trust me, you'll get praise for even touching a ball that no one even bothered to run for. Show the coach's your dedication to the game. Don''t be lazy.

Most important tip: Cheer on your fellow competition and future teammate's. Showing good sportsmanship is something every sport's coach is looking for. This always shows the positive energy you can bring to the team. When a teammate is down after losing a serve or a hit it's up to you and your teammates to encourage her to keep playing and get her mind back into the game. Player's don't look for coach's to give them emotional support. They depends on each other because they've all made mistakes in a game and know what it feels like. Coach's know this and they also know positive player's are always sooo much easier to coach.

    Good Luck
