Any way to consolidate debt without opening new credit account of some sort?

I don't make enough money to open any new credit accounts nor do I have any real assets. I just want to get it down to one payment a month and close some accounts out WITHOUT GOING THROUGH A CREDIT REPAIR OR COUNSELING CENTER OR WEBSITE. Any idea how I would do that?

  1. that really limits your options but if you have credit cards that have available balances you could ask for convenience checks to do balance transfers at a good rate or work on paying the highest interest rate debt off first and paying minimums on everything else to limit the number of debts outstanding...

  2. Read Dave Ramsey's "Total Money Makeover".  Start with your smallest debt and throw every penny you can towards it until it's payed off, while still making at least the minimums on the other debts.  As soon as you get that one payed off start taking everything you were putting towards that debt plus the minimum payments on the next bill in line and keep doing that until their all payed off.
