My blackberry curve just got stolen, i have the IMEI number and my service provider won't disable the phone for me, saying they can only suspend the line. Any way I can disable the phone so that whoever stole it won't be able to use it or sell it? It's not a company phone so I'm not on BES.

  1. Sadly, no. If you were to have a program on there such as BB Unite, this would be possible...but not with just the pre-installed applications on the phone.

Your best bet would be to file a Police Report. Often times, the Police can order the wireless company to "brick" the phone with sufficient evidence. Until then, I would get your line suspended.

There are many programs out there that helps you find a stolen Blackberry...it even maps out where your berry is, and gives you the option to disable it. However, problem is...it has to be on your device before it gets stolen.

    Best of luck finding it!
