Question:

Any way to eliminate bug infestation of umbrella tree?

I am trying to keep a plant I've had for 35 years but it has gotten infected with insects.

I used insecticidal soap on its leaves and the older, mature leaves are doing okay.

However, the tiny, new leaves it puts out, get eaten by bugs before they get treated.

Is there anything to do to get rid of the bugs, or do I need to get rid of the plant.

The bugs are only attacking this plant and not spider plants or snake plants, or Christmas cactus or a palm tree and other tropical, waxy leaved plant.

  1. I have heard that a very diluted version of a bedbug spray called Kleen-Free or their other product called Bedbug Terminator will help with small insects on plants.

They can likey tell you the right dilution ratio if you contact them.  It is chemical free so it is safe to use around pets etc.

    Good luck
