Any way to fix rubber sole that had chunks came off?

so i have this very soft & comfortable pair of shoes, the patterned sole had chunks that came off (i think the escalators did it!).. I don't have the missing chunks. so is there things like instant rubber or something that can fill the hole? if i take it to a shoe shop how much would it cost? it's a somewhat expensive pair of shoes, but it's begin to show wear. so unless there is a cheap way to fix it, i'm afraid it'll find the trashcan its next home.. :(

Most shoe soles today are actually a urethane foam, not rubber.  You might take your shoes to a repair shop, and ask, but I expect it's time for a new pair.

Shoe goo may work. it's rubber cement.
