Question:

Any way to get back Norton Internet Security 2008?

I just formatted my hard drive and reinstalled XP. Before doing so, I uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2008 with a vague intention of installing the 2005 version (for which I have an install disk) and updating to the level of 2008. I figured maybe my Norton subscription, which lasts another two months, would cover me in that respect. Basically, I hoped that the LiveUpdate function would automatically move me up from '05 to '08 level, which is why I didn't backup the '08 installer I bought from Norton (if there was one, if I kept it, etc.) Stupid reasoning, I now realize.

My question is this: Is there any means of getting back to Norton Internet Security 2008 without paying mundo cash? My Internet Security subscription, as I said, lasts two more months. Also, a peripheral question: If in 2009 I upgrade from Norton 05 to Norton 09, would it cost more than a one-year jump?

Thanks,

Zech

  1. Sure, just go to their support website & they should be able to help you out. If/when you upgrade, you will only pay for one upgrade.

  2. Your subscription lasts two months? it is valid.

    Forget the 2005.

Go to www.symantec.com and download the Norton Removal Tool.

    Run the Tool.

Then reinstall Norton Internet Security 2008.

    No disk?

    Go back to Symantec.

    You must have the KEY

  3. as long as you still have your product key you can go to the norton site and download the installer and just enter your product key in that. otherwise w/o the key its worthless
