Question:

Any way to stop getting emails from facebook about specific events ONLY?

I like to receive the emails from Facebook telling me when someone has written on my wall, sent me a message, etc, because I can skim over them and make sure I've checked everything. One thing I hate, though, is when I comment on a picture in a group, and I then receive an email every time someone else had commented. For friends pictures, notes, etc, this is fine, but when I just comment something about a picture in a group, and later get 100 irrelevant emails for comments by people I don't know, this drives me insane. Any ways to turn off the emails only for certain items?

Also, if I'm already receiving emails, can I delete my comment to STOP receiving more emails?

I would like the emails left on except for in a few specific cases...

  1. Yes. You can choose what you get emails about by doing the following:

    1. Go up to the top of the page where it says "settings"

    2.  Click on "Account settings"

    3.  Click on "Notifications"

    4.  Turn what you do and do not want notifications on, on or off.

You can also stop clogging your emails and get Scrapboy (my most favourite app :) which lets you customize what kind of updates you want to get (including which friends you want to get updates from) and notifies you about them on your desktop (so you can be doing other things like writing a paper or whatever) when you get them.  You won't miss any information but you also want hear anything you don't want to.

Here's the link (you need to be logged into facebook for this link to work since it's a page on Facebook):
