Question:

Any way to track an "Unknown Caller"?

I get Unknown Caller calls often and sometimes they're from family members. But, sometimes I think it's a telemarketer and I don't know how to track the number to block it. Do phone companies have any records of who is calling you?

It's very annoying when you don't know who is calling o_O.

  1. I know this person who use to get a lot of unkown calls on her cell phone. When her next billing cycle came around she would go on the internet and pull up her montly bill statement and she would then see who the unknown caller was. It was always the same person.  I don't know how this works with landline phones, and I don't know if it works with telemarkets or other companies. The person that had been calling her was an individual who had been blocking their number from her.

  2. you can trace the number that is calling you by a feature called call trace , all you have to do is dial a star code after you get this call.

you call also block this particular number calling your phone with another feauture called call block.

or you could also log on to Do not disturb and register your number.

  3. I too have that problem at times.  I have a huge family so I sent out an email telling them that I have a block that they need to reveal their phone number before calling... I think it's *82.  An unknown call will just not ring at my house they get a message like "this subscriber has call blocking and will not receive calls from unknown users, hang up and dial *82 and then the number you are calling".  Some services have the announcement others do not.  Whenever I do pick up an unknown call and it is a telemarketer/etc.  I simple do not let them begin to speak and inform them immediately that I wish to be removed from their call list.  There's also a National Do not Disturb list that you can add your phone number to.  I have Comcast Digital and I can go to my account and see exactly who has called me and who I've called and it's constantly updated.... you can also retrieve vmail directly from the web.  It's a great service.

  4. no...not really but you always can use *77 to stop him!!
