  1. well once your in the air, you cant make yourself go any farther, what you can do is take away from your jump. you wanna try to keep your legs in the air as long as you can so dont extend your legs cause they could hit sooner than they have to. hit the board hard and expload

  2. jump from further back in practice..then when you get to the meet jump from where u r sopposed to..it helps

  3. im also in 7th grade  and my best jump is 17ft 3.5"       Wen u start, u should jog   and wait to really excelerate in ur last 15-20 meters.    make ur last 2 steps b4 the board  somewat small,  if u r reaching longer for the board then u lose all of ur power, u want a small step so ur leaning forward and using ur power.Lastly, drive ur arms up in the air when u jump, and get as high as u can, the higher u get, the farther u can jump, expecially if u have wind to ur back

  4. okay well i am in long jump too.

    and 7th grade.

but what you want to do is practice with your arms.

go in a stretch of grass, sprint for about 8 sprints, and use your arms to help you jump.

if you get more air, you will go farther.

they say that if you can run, jump, and do a pike in the air then you are gonna be great.

    so work with your arms.

    and remember.

    run hard.

    jump hard.

    don't look down.

  5. Am not an expert at jumping but here's my shot at answering your question.

It takes time especially jumping you need to build your legs and arms (push up, sit ups, ect....)  every week do at least 3 days of jumping to practice your form you want to go high up to get more air. Don't tuck in your legs once you jump tuck in when you reach the peak of your jump. Also do some Plyometrics, (going up and down stairs and (hopping) but not minihopping you need to jump remember you're trying to gain height. Flexibility is also important. Moving those arms.

Also if you didn't beat them it isn't your fault. You tried your best.

If you go to practice and train hard it's just fine. Lol At the beginning of my season i get 4m 60. now i get 4m 90. (yea i know not that cool)

    Best of Luck!
