Question:

Any ways to get a scholarship into NYU?

I'm 14, and my friend is just now turning 15.

She's a very talented writer and singer, and she wants me to go into NYU with her.

Unfortunately, her family is wealthier than I am, so I was looking towards a scholarship to get in NYU.

She suggested Coca Cola, but I'm having trouble even FINDING a scholarship. I know it's rather early planning, but I would do anything to go with her. Any links would really be helpful and I do appreciate the help.

Thanks!

  1. You can apply for almost any scholarship and have it apply to NYU.  Also, the higher your grades, PSAT, SAT, and (if you want to take them) SAT II and ACT scores the more likely you would be to receive a scholarship of some kind from the school itself.

I wanted to make a sidenote though, and say that following a friend to a college to support them is not really a good enough reason to go there.  Loyalty to your friends is important, but you have to do what is best for you in terms of your higher education.  make sure that you go to a college or university that has a program that you are interested in.  If money is really a problem, it may not be the best school for you.  The cost of living in NYC is rough.  You need to make sure that you are looking after your future too - in terms of your education and also in terms of your financial situation.  Mountains of debt out of college is added pressure you don't need when trying to find a job.

    Good luck!
