Any weather men out there who know who to talk to about.......???????

Question

my son? he has a form of autism and is infatuated with the weather! that is ALL he talks about, he knows just about every thing from what the temp was in alaska from about 20 years ago on any certian, to how to work all the weather instraments! he wants to build his own equiptment and has some. he wants to be a meteroligist, but where do we start? he will be 13 in july and i would like to have something special to get for him! any ideas on how to build our own weather stuff? or any ideas on what kind of equiptment to get for him? i dont know much about it, and i dont want him to know what im planning for his birthday! any help would be greatly appriciated! thanks in advance!

My little brother is autistic as well, they can be a handful!

Every person have a gift, but because children and people with autism have disabilities with normal things and processing, their gifts really shine!!

I knew an autistic child who was a basket case, but her was a whiz when it came to reading.

I think your son definatley has a gift with weather.

He seems to be fascinated.

I am not a weather man, but I would go up to your news staion or simply call them up(any of them), see if they would let your son hang around for his birthday, watching the weather man, Maybe helping with a couple things.

when i lived in springfield mo, one of the tv stations used to have something on their website about how to make a home weather station. don't know if it's still there and don't remember which station it was but you could check their website or even email the weather guys there. ky3.com or kolr10.com (kolr10.com redirects to ozarks something.com. cant remember where)
