  1. Yes, it helps. I use it with my juniors and as an English department we've incorporated the book into our curriculum for the last two years. In the last two years our SAT scores have been higher than ever.

  2. it did help somewhat, especially with math. it gives you a very good idea of the kind of mathematics problems you can expect to encounter. however, the only thing that helped me vastly improve was taking the SAT a couple of times. the more comfortable i got with the test, the better i performed.

  3. Yes, I recommend this book to anyone preparing to take the SAT's. There are a lot of SAT prep books, but Collegeboard's worked best for me. After using this book, my score jumped 400 points from what I got on the diagnostic test to what I scored on the real test.

Collegeboard makes the SATs so their practice exams are most like the real ones. The other SAT guides aren't as good because their practice exams don't reflect the same level of difficulty as the real SATs.  For example, Princeton Review and Kaplan tend to be easier than the real SATs and Barron's tends to be harder.  Collegeboard's practice tests, on the other hand, are identical in every way to the real SAT tests.  (When I say identical, I don't mean identical questions, but the format, style, difficulty, and everything else are the same).  Therefore, using Collegeboard's tests will give you the most practice on how to take the actual SATs.

  4. The Princeton Review guides are our preferred choice at TPC Math Tutors - If you need 1-1 in-home tutoring visit us at www.mathtutorsoncall.com  Good rates and first class tutors.
