  1. Is your husband A- or A+ ?  If your husband is A-, then there won't be a problem at all.  If he's positive, then you need to receive a rhogam injection during your pregnancy. I am A- and my husband is B-, so there is no issue for us.

  2. I'm RH - and pregnant for the second time (1st was a miscarriage).  I had to have the shot.  They dont' know what blood type the baby is yet, so I would assume that they would give you the shot anyway.  They don't give it to you based on what blood the BABY has.  They give it to you if you are RH-.  You should get the shot around 26-28 weeks of your pregnancy.  How far along are you?

I know that my mom is also RH-.  With me (her first) she did not have to have the shot, but they gave it to her right after I was born.  With her other pregnancies, she did have to have it BEFORE they were born.  I think it's okay not to have the shot for your very first pregnancy, but for the others, you really should have it.  Ask your doctor to be sure.

EDIT:  And I agree with Darcy.  If your husband is A- then you don't have to worry about the shot.  I just assumed that you meant that your husband was A+.  Sorry!
