i was thinking the dress would be a great idea for a bridesmaid dress because then they can wear it any way that suits them that day, they match, and they can definately wear it again.

The only problem is i dont know what the material looks like. It says it comes in jersey or spandex, and i want to know which one doesnt look so casual. Or if it would even be noticable.

  1. Jersey can be a bit dressier (some really big designers make really fancy dresses from jersey material), or it can be what t-shirts are made from.  There is a lot of in between.  I think your idea of using the dresses is FABULOUS, but you might want to order one (for yourself maybe) just to see if you like the material and if it is dressy enough for what you want.

Again, spandex and jersey can be both really casual, or dressy, depending on the quality of the material and weave, and what it is used for.

Good Luck (I think the idea is great!)

  2. Victoria's secret jersey spandex is cotton that's a bit fuzzy and thin and stretchy. To give you an idea, think of  jersey knit yoga pants.

Cotton is definetly too casual for a BM dress.

    Good luck

PS/ I've bought some VS dresses and they have been thin material. For casual dress is OK,  but that particular style is very form fitting and maybe not very flatering on heavier figures.

IMO is not worth it. It's very casual and it's COTTON, it's too short and it looks like a dress that you would wear on a date, not a wedding.

  3. Not trying to be mean, but I think this dress would be an awful choice, especially for thin (smaller chested women).  Also, if you notice on the pictures it doesn't show you both the front AND back aesthetic for each "dress style" - they do that for a reason and I think it's because you'd have this "tail" hanging in the front or back of the dress. And for $95 on sale?  You've got to be kidding me.

I think I'd look at something a little more simple or classic looking if you are so concerned with the ability to wear again.

  4. not a good idea its very hard to pull off

  5. Jersey is a little softer and a little less clingy. However, both are extremely casual fabrics. The spandex has more of a sheen to it and the jersey is a bit more mat. Think along the lines of a tee shirt (jersey knit) versus a bathing suit (spandex) fabric-wise. Depending on the shape of your bridesmaids you may want to ensure they are all comfortable wearing a clingy dress. Otherwise, make the decision based on which fabric you think best suits the mood you are trying to convey.

    Good luck!

  6. google the twobirds dress... it's a bit more expensive, but made out of material MEANT for bridesmaids...

    Here's the link:

It's more like 11 dresses in one!
