Any1 know about hermit crabs?

what HOMEMADE food can i feed my hermit crab. ive heard that peanut butter is good... but im not sure. it HAS to be some kind of human food. thnx

Hermit crabs are basically scavengers...they will eat just about anything you do, cooked meat, veggies, grains, fruit.  They will also eat washed grass, tree bark and oak leaves(dried).  I would stay away from junk food, except for the occasional  treat.  For an absolutely awesome hermit crab website go to www.hermit-crabs.com  There is great information on how to keep your hermie happy and healthy.

no human food is actually good to feed your hermit crab permanently. My Hermit Crabs absolutely LOVE peanut butter. You can also give them bits pf orange or banana.....if you look it up on the internet there are plenty of things they like. I have 2 hermit crabs and oranges and peanut butter have been there fave. They also LOVE coconut strips tht u can buy from pet stores tht r made for hc crabs! Please buy your crabs true hermit crab food from pet stores! I will be back to see if u have any more questions!

btw y can't you buy regular food? and how many hermit crabs do you have? they like to be housed together!

As an owner of 7 hermit crabs, I can proudly tell you, hermit crabs will eat almost anything, but we want to feed them healthy things, such as fruit, veggies, crackers, or even peanut butter [or peanut butter on crackers is fine too].
