  1. Alcudia in general is for younger people. That part of Majorca(the north western) is the best part of Majorca, but I would try to go to Pollenca if I were you. Its about 3 miles further around the coast and much quieter.

Ive not been to the apartments you mention, but I would definitely advise getting a hire car. There is a road leading out of Pollenca to the north that leads to the north western peninsula. It is one of the most stunning roads you will ever drive on, there are a couple of hidden beaches that are never busy and you will want to return there every day!

If there are 6 of you, why don't you all chip in for a Villa? this would typically cost about the same as what you have all paid individually

  2. I stayed in the main hotel part of Alcudia Beach Apartments last year and really liked it. The only bad point was that our room looked out on a busy road and it sounded like they had rubbish collections every morning, never looked out to see if that was actually what was making the noise though! I think that would not be too much of a problem with the apartments though as I believe they are round by the pool. The rooms were always clean, maids came most days. The breakfast was really good - 7 euros all you can eat buffet was lots of choice, definitely my favourite part about the hotel. Had dinner there once too, which was nice, nothing special. The pool is not huge but definitly big enough to swim in and there were always sunbeds available when we went (September).

The hotel is under 10 mins walk to the beach, and 5 mins or less to shops. The b each was very good for watersports. It is also really close to a water park (around 10-15mins in the opposite direction to the beach). It's a fairly small one compared to the ones at the south of the island but worth a look being so close. It also has a massive crazy golf course. Most of the restuarants are in one street about 20mins walk away although some are closer. I didn't find the choice of resturants great, they were mainly pizzeria and steak houses with the odd chinese and finding local food was almost impossible! There were bars and clubs around but I didn't really try them.

If I were to go to Majorca again I would probably stay at the south of the island as a lot of the trips were down that way so we had several long journeys for those.

  3. omg english people spell mallorca like dis: majorca  and im spanish my self. and live in the islas baleares

  4. Alcudia for younger people.??

    Rubbish.

Alcudia is a resort that caters for every age group, and I've stayed there a few times.

    Younger go to Magaluf.

Tripadvisor is American for a start and owned by Expedia.

Try these reviews from British guests. They look OK to me and there's a video of the apartments

  5. If you are aged 18 - 24 I would not recommend Porto Pollensa for you as it is more suited to older couples and families.

I would say that Alcudia is more suitable although you might prefer some of the resorts on the other side of the island such as Magaluf and Palma Nova, which are aimed more at your age group.

If you research these resorts you may find information about apartments/ hotels that are suitable. If you go to www.holidaytruths.co.uk, and go to the Discussion Forum on Majorca you may be able to get more advice. This site also has reviews of most of the hotels/ apartment complexes  on the island.
