  1. Hi,

For a start, the locals spell in "Normandy"

It is a fine area in northern France, full of history & freindly locals in the towns & villages.

I am a fan of Normandy, as it is a famous wine-growing province.

It is a bit flat, so don't look for a mountain, but that is why the Allies in WW2 used it as a liberation of France landing.

Do not be homesick, you will return, and anyway, having travelled a lot, when back in the UK, I can haunt myself with more travel wishes !

    Bon Voyage, mon ami.

    Bob

  2. Nice part of the world.  Fishing boats, towns with harbours and hills and fields and woods and things.  Very big 'out of town' shopping centers (hypermarkets), so hang on to your cash till you get to one.  Good things to eat, small shops.  Old and historic things.  Interesting bunkers built by the Germans still standing in some places.
