How is the value of k related to the stiffness of the rubber bands?

  1. In this context, k would be a coefficient of elasticity, and is higher for a stiffer rubber band.  It's the constant of proportionality.


  2. The stiffer the band, the higher the value of k. The spring constant describes the restoring force the band can exert, and the stiffer it is, the better it can restore itself.
