  1. Rosebud is down on the Mornington Peninsula by the beach.

I wouldn't choose to have my beach house there - I prefer Portsea (and Sorrento and Blairgowrie) which is further down the Peninsula.

I think Rosebud has a mixture of holiday houses and permanent residents - the permanent residents are generally of the middle or lower middle class and it isn't a particularly attractive area.

There are shops including a large supermarket so theres not a problem food wise.

It is pretty small but only a 5 - 10 minute drive to Rye which is probably the biggest suburb / town down that side of the Peninsula after Mornington, so if you can't find something in Rosebud, Rye will have it.

It is about an hour and 20mins from Melbourne.

I wouldn't live there, or have a holiday house there but the house price is not expensive so that makes it attractive to some people.

Hope this helps, sorry if this is a bit biased (i live in Melbourne but have a holiday house at portsea)
