Whats it like? What are the best places to see, things to do, don't-miss sights?

Yes, I live here :)

Moscow, S-Petersburg, Nijniy Novgorod -  amust see cities.

Others'm- depends on your time and ability to get around.

1. Moscow - Red Square, KLremlin, Vasiljevskiy sobor.

2. S. Petersburg - pretty much everthing around the center

3. Nijniy Novgorod - Kremlin

Otherwise, you should have someone to help you with translations and general arrangements.

The Hermitage in St. Petersburg (or whatever they're calling the city this week) is a must see.  Also, the area around Petrozavodsk is really pretty, as it's more rural, is on lake Onega (2nd largest lake in Europe), and has some amazing architecture.  Since those are the only two areas I spent time in, that's about all I can suggest.
