  1. OMG im going to the Ardeche with my school aswell!

Im going in the early days of June '08!

I hope it will be fun! None of my friends are going!!

    Good luck on the trip!!

  2. That brings back memories - I went 24 years ago with PGL when I was 16 and it used to be a twin centre holiday - based in the Ardeche (dormatories) and on the South Coast (in tents).

It was fantastic - you need to take cotton pyjamas or similar skin covering for the longest Kayaking stretch along the Ardeche to avoid vicious sunburn and take lots of mosquito repellent.  It gets very hot in the Ardeche valley - up to 40 degrees sometimes and a couple of people on our trip got nasty sunstroke and had to stay in bed for a day or two.

The white water rapids are scary when you're kayaking down them - great fun though.  Other activities at the PGL centre on the Coast were windsurfing - there were others but I can't remember all of them and I had the odd hangover by the end of the holiday.

I remember the beds being OK - but I guess they'll be new ones now!  You will be so exhausted at the end of the day that you'll sleep very very well no matter what they're like.

I don't know how old you are, but it's legal to drink alcohol from age 16 in France - they had bars/discos at the place in the Ardeche and on the French coast, and we were allowed to drink (some of the teachers had too much to drink which would be a real no no in this day and age.  That may have changed now due to school health and safety rules.

Take some cash for buying presents and drinks/snacks - all other food will be provided for you.
