  1. no i dont believe it.

  2. Not really.

Ever since the 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenario did not pan out, the scare mongers have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

"But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be watchful! Be alert! You do not know when the time will come." (Mark 13:32-33)

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

Each new Christian denomination seems to worry about the end of the world a bit too much. Then after a couple of centuries, they realize that there are always wars and rumors of wars, etc.

I won't even mention the hundreds of false predictions of the end of the world over the centuries, all of which were based on individual interpretations of biblical prophecies.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everthing happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

  3. No, the Mayans just thought that the human race or Earth wouldn't be able to survive for that long. And let us not all be idiots, they never said that the world would end, they said "the world shall end as we know it". Many people have translated this to mean a new, golden age. Though a culture of people such as the Mayans could not have predicted even that. But something will happen, I think that the Sun aligns with the Milky Away or something. The worst that could happen is some Earthquakes, maybe a few erupting volcanoes and a few waves. And nobody truly knows when the world will end, but scientists have taken the rate at which the sun is burning it's gases and the nuclear explosions, and have estimated that it has enough fuel to keep going for about 5 billion more years. They predict that the Sun will be able to fuse hydrogen into helium in its core at about the same rate for another 5 billion years. So we of this generation are fine, but not the way the world is right now. Though that is no excuse to slack, we must keep improving, make the world better and easier for our children to deal with. Every generation must do its part, contribute, though my generation, the current one, in our teens and childhood and such, we might not be able....

  4. Honestly I didn't put much though into it.  But we'll certainly find out on that date.

  5. I don't really believe that a big doom thing would come on an exact day, but I do know that doom is possible xD After all, the end of the world didn't happen on 6/6/06, so it probably won't on 12/12/12. But I do know that an asteroid is headed towards us in 2029, and then coming back around in 2036 :) Hopefully it won't kill us either.

  6. NOWAY thats just about as impossible as hitler walking again

  7. hey(:

in a way i do, in a way i dont.

i just think its a matter of whatever happens, happens.

it may happen becuase the mayan's  predictions have

    been accurate throughout the years.

but maybe not becuase they stopped making calendars

right before they got wiped out.

which means, that they didnt have time to make a new

calendar & people started to assume that it is

going to be doomsday. just like out calendars,

theirs go on too. so... their calendar would go on

if it wasnt for them getting wiped out.

so i really cant tell you.

    no one knows for sure.

so it doesnt matter who you ask.

its just a matter of opinion.

but yeah, like i said, whatever happens happens.

live your life to its fullest. & be happy before time

    comes. :D

  8. Ashley, the doomsayers have been predicting the end of the world forever.  Michel de Notre Dame (better known by his Latin nom de plume: Nostradamus) predicted that in 1999 the Great King of Terror would come from the sky...  Well in 1999 the Great King was a no-show.  Remember Y2K?  Another end of the world as we know it non-event.

People who believe that 2012 is the end date base that erroneous belief on the Meso-American Long Count Calendar.  What they fail to understand is that the calendar makers couldn't care less about what was going to happen to an unknown people in the 21st. Century.  They were only concerned with their own affairs and remember, they failed to predict their own end.  Why should we believe now that they successfully predicted the end of our world?  These people were chipping away at stone, not computer generating their calendars.  They stopped working on their calendar when they got to that particular date in 2012 because:  1.  They were overrun by enemies, or... 2.  They were overtaken by plague or some other natural disaster and had to head for the hills.  There's no reason to believe that they stopped working on their calendar because they knew that date so far in the future was the End Times.  THAT makes no sense at all.

  9. No. They said Dooms Day was sometime in 1996. I was a teenager. I waited and nothing happened. No one can predict that.
