Hi, I need to spend a year in a spanish speaking country next year. i need to have a job there or be enrolled in a university before i go. The problem is I'd like to do volunteer work teaching disafvantaged kids. Does anyone know if universities accept that as a proper 'job' or am I going to have to find something paid and more office like?

  1. Good on you. There is an organisation called VSO, which places people in countries where expertise is required, to teach and advise. A placement with them for a year would be most acceptable to most (proper) universities. Well done.
