  1. yes it has to be the most stupid thing to call anyone. i hate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. I find it ok from some people but for others i would say, "don't call me that, if you please."

  3. i guess it is a little fake but when i say it im at just trying to sound nice and it builds a good repor with people

  4. As long as it's not prefixed with "Attila the"  I have no problem with it lol

  5. yeah, it feels so patronizing.

    also, babydoll, sugar, sweetie.

and the ultimate, "Have a blessed day"

  6. Hi HUN!!!!

    No it's 50-50

So your not a german from WWII then i never call anyone "hun"

    Bye HUN!!!

  7. nope, sorry hun. i think its kinda sweet.

  8. Yes, and I also don't care for cutie & sweetie.

  9. I hate it from most people. It does sound so fake - it's meant to be a term of endearment but people use it as a masquerade to pretend they're 'cool' with you - especially women. I'm always wary of women who call me hun. And I hate when my boyfriend calls me it - he calls every other female under the sun it and I find it very dismissive when he tars me with the same brush as them. Plus, he always calls me it when he's around a bunch of other guys, as well as 'love' - neither of which he calls me when we're alone!! It's like an assertion of his masculinity and I hate it!

  10. This used to bother me when I was younger.  I used to joke that I was legally changing my name to Honey b/c everyone, including my husband, called me that.

Now that I'm a little older and have a child, I find myself calling people that.  There is a way to use it genuinely and there is also a way to use is condescendingly.  I wouldn't worry unless people are using it in the latter way.  It just means people find you likable and nice.

  11. If you dislike it so much, then you should simply say,"Please don't call me that, my name is-------."

People who do this aren't trying to be rude, but I don't like too much familiarity with strangers, so I can identify with your feelings.

  12. I don't mind it - It's better than being called ***** features!

  13. no

  14. Yeah that is pretty annoying. I do like being called "duck" up north though, and "love" or "lover" in the west and down south.

  15. Sorry Hun but I LOVE IT!! HHHHUUUUNNNN hahahha

  16. It's hon , hon. I know you kids like to make up your own rules but , hon is short for honey.

If they are calling you Hun , you should be offended , they are barbaric and without morals.

  17. Feeling better now 'hun'?

i hope so, you must be a 'hun' for people to call you 'hun'

    anyway 'hun' you take care.

    bye 'hun'

  18. Where I come from, it's just something that everyone does. I live in a small rural town and pretty much everyone says"hon" when addressing people. It's not meant to be impolite, but friendly. Just my two cents.

  19. it won't happen again Hun.

  20. I hate it aswell. It sounds sooooo fake. My sister calls me it all the time and i feel weird when she does loool. Maybe we should start a petition! Oh and while we are at it chuck the word Love in with it! =)

  21. Yeah it's really annoying! Also 'babe' as well, that just irritates me!

  22. To me, "hun" ought to be reserved for someone special.

Do they mean an endearment or "Hun" as in Attila The... or worse...

"Attila (406 – 453), also known as Attila the Hun or the Scourge of God, was leader of the Huns from 434 until his death."

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atilla_The_...

That's what I always think of!!!

  23. I don't know what "does my head in" means,(lol), but at least now you feel better! HAVE A GOOD DAY!:)

  24. Oh yes me too.

  25. What about 'sweetie pie'  or 'pumpkin' ? :)

  26. YES...its an ignorant way of either trying to seem 'cool' and blase and i've forgot your name! it gets on my nerves  every time...even my partner used to say it at first luckily hes got the jist now lol

  27. Is it OK if I call you hunnybumkins instead?

  28. Not really, BUT, I live in the South.  I get called hon, darlin, doll, or babe everyday so I guess I'm just used to it, but I understand where your coming from.

  29. not if your first name is Atilla.....

  30. Yeah. Sooooooooooooooo American and phoney.

    Even Honey is an expression I hate,mainly because I used to have a dog called Honey,so that,to me,is a dog's name.
