Anybody else here seen Pido Dida with Kris Aquino and Rene Reqiuestas?

Question

I was looking through my mom's stash of old pinoy movies and picked up this really old film Pido Dida.

The movie starts out with the 2 main characters (Rene as Pido and Kris as Dida) living in an orphanageunder the impression that they are twin brother and sister. As the movie goes on they grow up together until one time when they are in their late 20s, they discover that they are NOT blood-related at all. Then the movie turns into an uncofortable love story between the two. There was this gut-wrenching scene where the two, after finding out that they are not brother and sister, hop in bed hugging and snuggling like s*x crazed loonies. The movie ends with the two in a church wedding (vomit bag would be handy if you want to watch this scene). Even if you are aware that it was all just a movie, it was still so uneasy to watch. I felt like I was commiting the act of incest just by watching the d**n thing. Very subliminally disturbing.

yeah, i did. perhaps when i was still in elementary.. and just months ago, got a glance of it.. just parts of it.. felt the same way, not to elaborate.. hehe. anyway, it was a hit during that time. rene plus kris. lol

yeah. i think they even kissed each other.lips to lipsss.haha. Rene was one of the funniest man in showbiz that time.

I watched this movie ages ago when it was shown on TV. I didn't find it disturbing since I guess I wasn't really into the whole thing. I mean, it was just like any of the movies that I wouldn't bother watching on the big screen, not having much substance to it.

It's a shame that your main reason for detesting the movie was not its quasi-incestial themes but because "subliminally" you do not believe that an unattractive man deserves a more attractive partner (even though I absolutely squirm at the notion that you would consider Kris Aquino as remotely attractive.)

I've seen that movie a long time ago and I really couldn't fathom the rage with the Rene R. and Kris love team. =))

Rene Requiestas is now dead, isn't he?

I think he started as a comic sidekick to Joey De Leon and Vic Sotto.   And when paired with Kris Aquino,  he boasted that he is in fact the first actor to have Kris in bed.

Not long after that boast, he died.  The plot thickens....
