I have run out of options. I was diagnosed with GPC and it has changed my life. i cant wear contacts because it makes the infection worse so i am on my 3rd week of wearing only my glasses and taking prescription eyedrops. It has gotten a little better but I'm scared I will never be able to wear my contacts again. On top of the infection, I have -8 prescription so i can't just take my glasses off when i want to go swimming or workout. My doctor also said I'm not a candidate right now for lasik eye surgery because of my age and another reason. I'm very bummed and can use any advice.

  1. I was diagnosed with GPC  this past May. I limit my contact use to the weekends. The real key is to not wear your contacts! It's been 3 and a half months and there has been some improvement. I still have it though. There isn't a wonder drug out there that will cure it. It takes time ! I'm starting to find that out now. At night time when you're sleeping, do you get some discharge from your eyes? Like crusty eyelids?

  2. GPC can take a long time to resolve.  Months even.  When it does, you may benefit from wearing a daily replacement lens and using either OTC or prescriptive maintenence meds. Good luck to you.
