And yes I know its not Nadals fault... but it does seem to be a tad easier in the 2nd half on the draw! Roger and Novak must be pretty gutted.

  1. I know right! I'm extatic about it though LOL i wanna see Andy in the Semis!!!!

  2. Yeah. Not as cushy as Novak's though. Fed's Qtr looks to be the toughest of the 4, then Davydenko's then Nadal's then Novaks. Well let's see how it plays out. They need to beat em to get to the Final anyway.

  3. yes.. may be..http://summer-olympics-updates.blogspot....

  4. I see what you mean; but Federer had a cushy draw as well at Roland Garros compared to Nadal and Djokovic in the bottom half.

  5. Yeah im glad u pointed that out dear katie, it aint Rafa`s fault. Im pretty happy :) ! Last years draw for Rafa was extremely tough at wimbledon. And throughout this year he always seemed to get a pretty tough draw in the tournaments. Anyway i do agree it is easier than Roger`s and Novak`s definitely. But i think its about time Nadal got a easy draw :P ! hehe Then again is it really a good thing ? Lets say Nadal`s potential challenger is Roddick.... Rafa will only meet a good grass court player in the semis !!! Far into the tournament and he hasnt really played dangerous opponents so then when he meets Federer in the final..... jeez at least Roger will be prepared by beating the likes of Novak. I now wish Nadal got Novak in the semis, cause each time Rafa beat him he went on to beat Roger in the final !!! :( Maybe its a bad thing really !!! grrrrr

    In saying that Rafa`s draw isnt all that great. With the likes of Richard Gasquet, Mikhail Youzhny,Radek Stepanek,Ernests Gulbis.... anyway anything can happen at wimbledon.

    Vamos Rafa :P x*x

  6. It must pay to be #2

  7. Yes, I understand. But Nadal could face other players that could give him trouble on this surface like Ivo Karlovic and Robin Soderling. Look at the Queens match. Karlovic almost beat him!!!!!!! It could be close. Last year at Wimbledon, Soderling took Nadal to a fifth set, because he goes to net a lot. If could be tougher for Nadal than you think! =)

  8. yea maybe u're right??

    can i get the draw anywhere on the internet?

  9. Big picture (in terms of getting to the final), yes it is cushier. But he has landmines in Gulbis, Murray/Gasquet and Roddick to get to the final. Federer shouldn't be troubled all the way to the semis but he has a BIG obstacle there. Djokovic has big obstacles in Karlovic and Federer. So let's draw a subjective point system - how hard it is to beat someone on grass (10 being the most difficult) and add it up.

    Nadal = Beck (1) + Gulbis (4) + Kiefer (3) + Youzny (4) + Murray (5) + Roddick (8) = 25

    Federer = Hrbaty (1) + Soderling (3) + Monfils (5) + Gonzo (4) + Kohlschreiber (3) + Djokovic (10) = 26

    Djokovic = Berrer (1) + Safin (3) + Seppi (3) + Wawrinka (3) + Karlovic (7) + Federer (10) = 27

    So, Djokovic has the hardest path and Rafa has the easiest path, though pretty even till the semifinals. The biggest difference being at the semifinal stage where Rafa has a decided advantage over the other two. But you have to make it there first! Go Rafa!

  10. Cushy  in comparison...let's see Beck is not all that easy, but the possible 2nd is Gulbis, 3rd Kiefer, 4th Stephanek/Youzhny, Qtr Gasquet/Murray, Semis Roddick, seems pretty cushy, no? NO!

    Federer has an ok 1st rd, Hrbaty, 2nd Soderling, 3rd Monfils, 4th Gonzo, Qtr Kohlschreiber, Semis Djokovic

    Djo has the toughest 1st rd with Berrer, 2nd Safin, 3rd Seppi, 4th Wawrinka, Qtr Karlovic/Nalby, Semis Federer

    To me they have equally tough draws, Djo has the toughest 1st, Nadal has the toughest 2nd, 3rd and maybe 4th as well. Federer 3rd and 4th are tough, but I expect him to get through.

    So I disagree and say it is uncushy...

  11. i wouldn't say that. Rafa could face Gulbis in the 2nd round and Kiwi in the 3rd. don't underestimate these 2 players. Kiwi can play better grass court tennis than what he has showed in Halle.

    many people are only looking at names, but remember what happened at the FO. Rafa crushed his fellow Spaniards Verdasco and Almagro, both considered as good clay courters.
