Anybody ever had a close encounter ???

with sharks?? either deliberately or accidentally?? did you get wounded/hurt??? did it put you off snorkelling/diving???

Well yes im a swimmer and surfer not competitive surfer or anthink just a hobby. One time i was out surfing drifting off into my own world when i heard a siren go off like an ambulance siren and ther was a shark plane flying around in circles about 100m away from me. I didn't know what was happening and i was just floating there on my board waiting for a wave when i man was yelling his head off at me tell me to get out of the water.

Having no idea what was happening i swam to shore just standing wondering what was happening and heard people talking about a shark. I was thinking thats strange so thats what the plane was doing. The next day in the local paper there was a small article saying at the exact tiem and place i was there was a 4m great white shark  and was spotted by a shark spotting plane. I thought it wsa pretty lucky the guy told me to get out.
