i was a big salvador sanchez fan and was saddened when he died, though he looked great in his brief career,it just wasnt long enough for him to be considered the very best.his best wins were against danny lopez,azumah nelson and wilfredo gomez , there are alot of mexican fighters that have beaten a better list of fighters. he may have gone on to be a long time dominate champion but he didnt get the chance.there have been alot of fighters who have looked unbeatable until they fought the guy with the right style to beat them, sanchez  just wasnt around long enough .

he could have been the best but we will never know. he beat lopez, gomez and azuma . he was gonna fight arguello next adn i thinnk he would have beaten him too

No. I would rate Julio Cesar Chavez over him. Chavez had a career that spanned 15-17 years. Salvador was great but he was only 23 when he died. True he had some good wins Little Red Lopez twice, Gomez and Nelson. I do not think he could have beat Arguello at 135. Chavez also beat the best of his time over a longer period. Another Mexican who i would rate over Sanchez would be the great Bantamweight champ Carlos Zarate.

Even asking a question of that magnitude with his career and life being lost in a tragic car-truck accident on a narrow Mexican road so prematurely shows how GREAT he truly was. That man acheived Legendary Status and it would have only grown larger!  And U can leave out the Mexican part,HE was one of the BEST EVER!

I saw him beat some very good fighters, and he was one of the best Mexican fighters ever.

I have problems naming anyone the best ever at anything, since you don't have a direct contest to prove who is really the best.
