  1. I like Cora's, but Mello's in Merivale Road is also good as is Local Heroes.

  2. Yes, as an Ottawa girl myself who loves eating breakfasts out, I'd recommend what I like best:  The great old-fashioned diner breakfast.

    1) Rockin' Johnny's - This is the only place in Ottawa you can get "Hungry Man" Breakfasts.. they serve all three meats, and 3 eggs, plus a pancake, hash browns and toast, juice.

Great 2 eggs/bacon/ham breakfasts, and omelette's, french toast - pancakes, etc. at decent prices.

Also try going downtown - Anywhere, especially in an Office Building, usually on the main floor or downstairs you'll find the old-fashioned diner, with the breakfasts we're used to.  Albert, Slater.. Bank St., etc.  Working downtown for 20 years got me used to these.

Good luck.  They're still out there.. You don't have to settle for MacDonalds's or Wendy's.. OR pay the High Prices of a Hotel or a 'Speciality' restaurant.

    Cheers! :)

  3. Denny's, there are several of them in Ottawa

  4. I went to a Denny's there.

  5. Diwali its in Downtown its really good not sure if theres breakfast though there's a buffet 4 lunch and ordering at night really cheap 2

  6. Yes! I am the biggest fan of breakfast/brunch: Would take this meal over any other meal of the day!

    1. Jak's Diner: My new found favourite, on Bronson near Carling, has a wonderful menu, broad, good mix of ingredients. You're looking at about $10-12 a person depending upon drinks (coffee and freshly squeezed juices).

    2. Stoneface Dolly's: Preston Street in Little Italy. Another favourite of mine for gourmet style breakfasts, same price as Jak's, but the lines tend to be long for this place. They do Bridgehead coffee and some wonderful squeezed juices, as well as a full espresso bar.

    3. Baker Street Cafe: In Westboro, on Richmond. A good, standard, cheap breakfast, with wonderful cinnamon buns. I just strongly dislike their coffee--tastes too much like Tim's for me.

    4. Von's Bistro: A good, healthy style brunch/breakfast place, on Bank at Fourth in the Glebe. Wonderful variations on classics, but also a bit more healthy stuff.

    5. The Manx, on Elgin: Again, very healthy, very yummy, pub like atmosphere, it fills up quickly. Both Von's and Manx fall into about the same price range as Cora's.
