  1. PAN DE TRES LECHES

    1 can sweetened condensed milk

    1 can evaporated milk

    1 cup whole milk

1 white cake mix (any kind)

1 16 oz Cool Whip whipped topping

any type of canned pie filling or sliced bananas/stawberries

Mix the cake mix according to package directions. Bake cake and leave in pan to cool.

While cooling, mix together the three milks.

Poke small holes in cake wih fork then pour combined milk over the cake.

Add sliced bananas or canned blueberry pie filling to the top of cake. Spread whipped cream over fruit like frosting.

Chill a few hours before serving.

NOTE: It's very important to chill for several hours so that the cake can set.

  2. You can buy Tres Leches cake mix.  It comes with the mix for the milk syrup too.  All you have to get to go with it is some heavy cream to whip for the frosting.

It really doesn't taste as good as tres leches made from scratch.  The eggs are in the recipe to give the cake a dense, firm texture that will hold up to being saturated with the milk syrup without just tasting soggy.

I know it takes a ton of eggs...that's why it's a special-occasion cake and you wouldn't want to make it every day.

If you do go with the cake mix variety, add a little brandy or rum to the milk syrup and it will greatly enhance the flavor.

  3. Just bake the cake.

    Then:

    2 cups milk

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk

1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk

1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

    1 tsp. vanilla

Pierce cake several times with a fork.

Combine the whole milk, evaporated milk, and condensed milk together. Pour over the top of the cooled cake.

Whip whipping cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 cup of the sugar together until thick. Spread over the top of cake. Be sure and keep cake refrigerated, enjoy
