Anybody have any experience with retail?

I need some number for the expenses of running a board shop for an economics project, and I'm supposed to try to be as real as possible. Anybody on hear have any numbers they can give me? If you want to communicate personally, you can message me.

  1. Try to do it using basic maths.

    For example if a board is bought from a wholesale dealers from you for £50. You sell it in your shop for £120. You've then made a £70 profit and had a £170 turnover.

    You can work out figures like that by estimating how many you sell in a month, calculating your profit. After that possibly produce a balance sheet?


  2. Our shop marks everything up 50%. For example, we buy a snowboard for $250 and sell it for $500. Under armour/other under wears we buy for $40 and sell for $80.

    Or you mean the costs of running the place. That part I do not know? About the same as any other store I would imagine.
