Anybody have experience with Geico auto insurance?

They are quoting me a rate about 30% lower than State Farm, who I have been using for 9 years. Anyone have any opinions on Geico? Any experiences (good or bad) dealing with them? Thanks.

  1. i've been with them for a couple years now, no problems

  2. I was just rear ended by a motorist who is insured by Geico and so far, I can tell you Geico has been horrible to deal with.  The driver gave me a claim number so i could call them to follow up on how to get my car repaired.  I called them and they gave me the name of the adjuster assigned to the claim.  I left a message for that person morning and evening for two days and still have yet to receive so much as a call back.  Frustrated, I called their general number again and they didn't even have information about the accident in the system other than my name and the person that hit me (their customer).  Anyway, the only option they gave me was to have to make an appointment with their adjuster to go to a collision center over 20 miles from my home or office during working hours Monday thru Friday so I could have their adjuster give an estimate.  They would not send someone to my house, let me go to a local body shop, or anything else convenient to me.  They won't reimburse me for travel or time off to go get an estimate.  I can't imagine how much worse this experience is going to get when I actually try to have my car repaired.  Therefore, my advice, don't ever do business with Geico and pray that you never are hit by someone who does.

  3. They are very good when dealing with their claims department.  My rate is very good too.  We have like 9 vehicles on the policy and pay way less than usual.  They put in all the discounts that you are entitled to.  They are easy to deal with either on the phone or on the internet.  When an accident does occur, they get the info they need and take care of it.

  4. Good people 4 years Gieco customer.

  5. Was ran off the road  by a van  ,totaled my Chevy cavalier  . they paid off the car   hospital bills  and paid me $5000.oo  also  ...

  6. I have Geico and I havent' had any problems, but I have never experienced how they would treat me if i got into an accident.  Cheap insurance doesn't always mean the best insurance.  Sometimes you have a company that gives an awesome rate but when you get in to an accident, they don't wanna pay up to cover your costs.

My fiance has State Farm and while they are a bit more expensive, they were so great when she got her car stolen.  They gave her more money than her car was worth and she didn't have to fight them at all.
