Anybody here remember the days of the old time radio shows and what were some of your favorites?

I wasn't around back then but I collect the old radio shows and love them all but it would be nice to hear from someone that lived back in the day when the radio was the main piece of furniture

  2. bob hope show amos and andy george burns and gracie allan what a team......I was not around either but I love to collect the old radio shows and old movies..

  3. Will hit me in my wheel house,,,, Grew up in front of a radio.

    Comedys,, Fibber McGee and Molley, Burns and Allen,

    Great Gildersleeve, Baby Snooks, Lux Radio theater,

    Jack Benny and Rodchester, Dagwood and Blondie, Red

    Skelton, Ma and Pa Kettle,

    Adventure shows,, Tarzan, Lone Ranger, Gene Autrys Melody Ranch, Roy Rogers and the Dbl RR Bar Ranch,

    Gunsmoke, Green Hornet, Terry and the Pirates, The

    Phantom.

    Dramas The Shadow, The Sheriff, just for a few,, Its was

    the most amazing time for a kid to sit in front of a crosley

    radio and just melt into the venue he or she was listening

    to. Nothing will ever replace it.

Let me see now as I walk down memory lane I was young but still remember the Shadow ( the Shadow knows)   Amos and Andy (of course we had no idea it was two white guys)  and of course Burns and Allen (say good night Gracie).  Radio made us run the theater in our minds.  We pictured what the radio was saying.  I can  still hear the door on Inner Sanctum and picture someone very dangerous behind it like Vincent Price.   Ah yes those were the days but   ah now these are the days.  Make the most and the best of whatever time you are living in.

My dad would work on  his friend's  radio's so that was fun time for us.only problem  just when we were into a program it would What my dad called "shorten out" but I was so young I don't know any one show we listen too.I was a daddy's girl just being with him was most likely the fun of it for me. I have raked my brain and can not come up with nothing..I just know it was fun thing for me. You must remember I was  a blond even as a child. could that be the problem?. still.Laughing.
