Anybody here volunteer for airborne while in Infantry osut?

Question

I could not get airborne in my contract (guy was a d*ck) roughly what are my chances at getting a slot while at osut?

will I know who and when to request it while I'm there?

I'm not an expert on this but your chances aren't very good. When I joined my recruiter told me he couldn't get me airborne in my contract but all I had to do was tell my drill sargent and he would get me in. That was a lie. From what I understand airborne school has a waiting list of about 3 weeks at any given time and you have to be one of the best in ur company in basic to get in. Whenever someone in my basic training unit asked a drill sargent how to get in airborne school they wouldn't answer. I didn't stick around till the end so I'm not sure how that changed once the top recruits emerged.
