  1. Cadaver Dogs are trained to locate and follow the scent of decomposing human flesh. Not a pretty thought, but their job is vital to both families of the victims, and to a justice system that ofttimes needs a body to prove a crime. These dogs work both on and off leash and are trained to detect the scent of decomposition that rises from the soil, same principle as when a dog knows where he last buried his bone.

The answer shortly, is YES. they are trained to sniff out flesh. (:

  2. I think that the cadaver won't be stinky enough; however, regular dogs have found such things (like old bones are stuff like that ) that if I was a killer I would never be confident enough :)

  3. yes. there's a tv show been on itv recently, featuring those dogs. the trainer had "bone" from an ancient corpse, (when i say "bone", it was actually dust, the bone had disintegrated!) and the dog STILL managed to find it. they were even used in the children's home in jersey that's been in the news recently and made a few of the discoveries, that's been around 20 years i think (?) so they're incredible animals!

  4. Yes It will if it is trained. But y, can u tell us y u need to now this info are u a killer O.J.           Kev

  5. That would depend upon a lot of things. The condition of the soil, the condition of the remains, the moisture, the weather, etc. There have been cases where cadaver dogs have picked up scent over huge periods of time, but, it also depends on the dog and his drives as well.

    Hope I helped!
