  1. treasure baskets, www.surestart.gov.uk/_doc/P0000221.pdf

safety mirrors, balls, large cardboard boxes with toys inside

  2. Here are some activities:

    Finger painting with pudding

    Clapping to music

Dumping objects out of a box

    Reading aloud

Giving them age appropriate books and letting them play with them

Outdoor time in a safe area

Crawling through tunnels ( the ones you can by for this age)

    Climbing over blocks and steps

Practice grasping by eating finger foods (cheerios)

You can purchase activities books or go to websites for more ideas.  Zero to Three is a good website for this age group.

  3. Painting with pudding, or regular paint.  Jello painting.  Coloring with crayons.  Making play-doh with the children.  Let them help stir, pour, etc. then let them play with it.  Get a sensory table and rotate what is in it: flour, oatmeal, paper, wrapping paper, water, ice (big chunks- so not too small to choke). Books, for them to look at, and for you to read.  Music that you can dance with them.  Playing is learning at this age...

  4. I would recommend activities that include music, even if the children are just playing with toys.  It stimulates their brains.  Anything that promotes motor skills is great, so even rolling a ball back and forth is great.  Just interact with them a lot, and don't use "baby talk."

  5. they love to draw, color, music they love to dance. They love to play outside. If you watch them carefully they like to glue put different scaps of paper and let them put glue on the paper and then the scraps.

  6. CLOSELY supervised sandbox

  7. Okay - One year olds don't participate in activities unless perhaps it is a mommy & me type of thing (i.e. Gymboree, Kindermusic type program).

  8. They dont  really play with each other at that age They would like a grocery cart they could push around and different color and sizes play groceries. They would also like a ride on toy that they could put something in the seat or whatever. And of course they all love music to dance to and instruments to play They have a little toy piano that my granddaughter loves shes 18 mo.They would like to sing with you or clap there hands..One song i think they love is( Will say the kids name was Johnny )YOU clap your hands as you sing Johnny here today(again)then yay ! Johnny here today as you circle your arms and fist around each other.Hope this helps!

  9. most one year olds can't even TALK ! don't think too much into this ! give em a book and some crayons .... you'll be fine ! you can maybe even try teaching them to WALK! ! ! !

  10. put them in their high chairs and put a dollop of pudding on the tray -they can smear and l**k and have a ball.  Instruments are super if you can stand the noise.  rolling a ball back and forth for the ones who will sit still long enough!  Have fun!

  11. Let them crawl, walk and play with baby toys Smile, laugh, read, sing and dance with them. Use some sensory such as smooth surfaces, air blowing, music and water. Explore the room and outside environment with them.
