  1. there is this one that is really cool. i will try to explain it the best that i can, but i don't even really know how it works myself. something about math and the way the cards are layed. but it works everytime if you do it right.

    so to start.

    1. deal the cards into piles face up. the first card is the number you start with. for example-if the first card you turn up is a nine, you start counting and the next card is ten. you add each pile up to 13. face cards are 10 and aces are 1.

    2. you turn each pile face down. there will be different numbers of piles depending on which cards are in them.

    3. you want to get down to three piles of cards. this can be part of your act. ham it up. for example-if you have 6 piles, ask the person to pick two. then take the piles they pick and move them to the side-then ask them to pick two more. then out of the two that the didn't pick have them pick one. then keep the last three they picked and discard the one they didn't pick.

    4. then take all the cards that are discarded and have the person count them.

    5. in your head subtract 10 from the total.

    6. line up the three remaining piles and ask the person to turn over the top card of two of them.

    7. subtract the numbers of the card they turn over from the total in your head.

    8. the number you have left should be the number of the top card of the remaining pile not turned over. you can now "predict it"

    this should work everytime.

oh and if you have not enough cards at the beginning to make a full other pile, just add them to the discard.

you have to make sure you have all the cards or this won't work.

  2. Preparation:

    1. Take a card, hold it vertically and fold it in half.

    2. Take another card, hold it horizontally and fold it in half. Make a vertical cut down one of the halves (this will be at a right angle to the fold line).

    Trick:

    1. Hold both cards with the fold lines at the bottom.  Place card number 1 inside card number 2 (half of it is inside, and half of it comes out the secret cut you made- this is unseen by the audience because they are looking at the other side of the cards).

    2. Fold the two halves of card number 1 the other way so card number 2 is folded inside it.  Don't let the audience see the secret cut with half of card number 2 coming out.

    3. Slide card number 2 back and forth inside card number 1.  At one end, the face side of card number 2 is seen, and at the other end, the back of card number 2 is seen.

I hope this makes sense, because it was really hard to explain.

    Here's another one:

    Preparation:

Turn the bottom card of the deck over.

    Trick:

    1. Have someone select a card.  As they are looking at it, secretly turn the deck upside down (it will still look like it is the right way up).

    2. Ask them to push the card back in somewhere, face-down like they think the rest of the deck is (make sure you keep the deck square.  Secretly flip the deck over again.

    3. Fan through the deck until you find an upside down card.  Ask the participant to remove it and look at it- It's their card.
