Some time ago some people came and stayed at my house and one lady that was there made this fantastic dish that consisted of cut-up potatoes (in square-like shapes) mixed in with a whole lot of cheese (it looked like the kind of cheese thats on mozzarella sticks but it was kinda yellow-orangy looking....the cheese was really good. Anyone know the name of that dish and where i can find the recipe. She called it 'potato......something' i can't remember.

  1. Sounds like potatoes au-graten. .Similar to scalloped potatoes, but made with Cheddar cheese.

  2. Give your former guest a call and see if she has the recipe you are looking for.  If that doesn't work, then you can check out AllRecipes.com or TasteofHome.com for a reasonable facsimilie of your recipe.  Sounds like potatos au gratin or a potato casserole made with O'Brien potatos and either cheddar or velveeta cheese.  Good luck!

  3. that was probably velveeta cheese--go to their website~~

  4. Sounds like homemade agrarian potato's.    Not hard to make but most people would rather get it out of the box.

  5. That is a description of everyone's favorite potato casserole.  It goes by many names but here is my favorite rendition.

Here's the recipe for potato casserole:

32 oz. pkg. of frozen hash browns (sometimes these come in square-shaped patties.  Break them up before mixing in.)

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 can cream of chicken soup

    1 8 oz. sour cream

2 cups sharp shredded cheddar cheese

    1⁄2 stick melted butter

    Ritz cracker crumbs

    Butter

Melt additional 3/4 stick butter and mix w/cracker crumbs to cover

casserole.  (Around one and a half tubes of

crackers to make enough to cover the casserole good.)

Just mix it all up in a big bowl, pour into greased casserole dish,

cook for around 30 minutes covered, then sprinkle w/crumbs and cook

another 15 minutes or so until it all bubbles & is browned on top....350

    degrees.

  6. This sounds like potato gratin to me.

cant help you with the recipe but type the name of the dish in and you should get it no problem.
