  1. During WWII, the communist Chinese, led by Mao zedong, something like that, joined forces with their enemies, the chinese nationalists, to fight the japanese. This explains why 1949 was the right time for the people's republic of china to be born because right after wwII, their fighting resumed and it was only a matter of time for the communists to win, since they had more support from the people.

  2. Do you have a textbook?  To answer your question would mean writing your essay for you, and that will be no use to anyone.

  3. Are you telling me you can't just GOOGLE "The Long March"? because if you CAN GOOGLE IT... you will turn up FORTY EITGHT MILLION SIX HUNDRED THOUSAND hits (48,600,000) about the whole birth of the People's Republic... wouldn't that be a lot more than wanting a single sentence here on Answers.

  4. Start with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mao_Zedong

    Then go to http://www.amazon.com/Mao-Story-Jung-Cha...

  5. Look up communism in china and the politics and events going on that affected china at that time.

Mao Zedong is who  you're talking about, or Chairman Mao.

    You'll figure it out.

  6. Sure, I know a lot! Infact, we're doing Communist China and Mao right now in English.

During the 60s-70s, China's government was being led by Chairman Mao. He was in the 'gang of four,' along with his wife, Madame Mao. At the moment, we consider him really quite evil... however that's not what China thought (and still thinks in some parts). They were obessed with him, right down to small town folk in agricultural villages. The peasants of China considered him 'God in human form.' Charmain Mao had little red books printed which were given to most people in China, particularly children in school. It is called 'Mao's Red Book' and contains sayings from Mao (the book basically says how great communism is and has endless stories that are 100% propaganda).

Anyway, I think I can say, and anyone else who has studied the topic can say too, that Mao basically brainwashed everyone in China... it's a sheer pity that he still has people in China brainwashed infact, even after he died in the early 80s. Mao wanted all Western thought and news in China exterminated. He wanted a Communist China (a country run by a goverment where everything is shared amongst the people and everyone is equal) and he got it, too. Except, in communism, it never works out. China was still starving under his government, and the true workers were always having trouble supporting their families. Anything from another country was gone, anyone who supported views or who affiliated themselves with anti-communist people's were executed or imprisoned. It was a harsh time... America and other rich countries were seen in China as 'poverty infested.' Mao used countless propaganda chants throughout his rule('Long, long live Chairman Mao' which was popular amongst the children). He had everyone in China in the palm of his hand, and they loved it! They still love him, too. It's hard to believe it happened in the 70s, isn't it?

We're reading a really good book called 'Mao's Last Dancer.' It takes you into Communist China during Mao's rule and everything else. The book follows a Chinese peasant boy (Li Cunxin) and his rise angainst poverty to the glory of the West, where he explains his journey as a professional ballet dancer. Cunxin actually lives in Melbourne (Australia) now, the city where I live. It's a fantastic book!

The funny thing is, he was one of the greatest supporters of Mao, until he left China to perform ballet in America... where he learned that everything he had heard, taught, lived and seen, was a lie. Anyway, it's a great book, and it will really give you a much better understanding of Communist China under Mao's rule.

    Hope this helped!

  7. During early 20th century

    Old empire, Qing was destroyed

by foreign powers and Chinese people seeking for future

After Qing's downfall, China was divided by warlords

and it also suffered invasion from Japan

    --------------------------------------...

two major players were Mao and Jang Kai Sak(I am not sure if I spelled him right)

Jang had advantage at the first, and he ruled most of China

But Mao finally outpowered him due to his superior leadership, vision, strategy, and political skill.

Jang had more army, money, and gained support of USA....but he lost, and ran away to Taiwan.

    --------------------------------------...

Mao made some great achivements, and some terrible mistakes. So some people think of him as hero of China, while the others compare him to Stalin.

    Achivements

1.He reunited China. Without his effort, China could be divided or got much smaller than it is now

2.He kicked out all foreign powers

    Mistakes

    1.Cultural Revolution

    2,Dictatorship
