Anybody know good road bike brands?

I'm looking for something that will take me to and from college everyday, nothing really fancy, but it has to not bust on me lol, and i would like for it to have some kind of design quality. I'm looking to spend around 500 or under +/- maybe 100

The best brands are whatever is available at your local bike shop. Go visit them and learn all about your future bike, what makes it right for you, how to take care of it, etc. by developing a strong relationship with and buying from your local shop you'll recieve outstanding customer service and someone whos there to help you out after the sale.
