Anybody know how to become a new york state fdny emt?

I live in new york city and i would like to become an FDNY EMT. I was reading up on how to do it but it is very confusing. anyone out there on the job or just anyone who can give me a step by step process on how to do so. i would really appreciate it. thank you.
