Since the wet weather, we seem to be infested with them. Have tried all the conventional fly killers, really cleaned the kitchen, but no luck. Any advice would sure be appreciated as we are going mad! Ta!

  1. Pour bleach down all your drains.

Keep a can of spray around.  I'm having the same problem with gnats and fruit flies.  I'm bombing the house this weekend to see if that helps.

  2. I found we had these from two potted plants on the kitchen window sill where there was water in the dish under the pots. Don't know how they breed though.  If you have potted plants check this out as it could be where they are coming from.

  3. I have these too! There so annoying. They are fruit flies they live of the food and water in your kitchen etc. So put all food awy in cupboards dis infect the kitch again put wshing up way take any rubbish out and try and keep it spotless all over the house. I then shut all my windows and sprayed my whold house in fly spray and went out for a bit to let the spray do the work. I also put up sticky fly strips that pin to the ceilling and hang down it attracts the  flies to it by smell nd they land on it and get stuck.Careful not to walk into the i have got my hair stuck in one twice lol hope this helps cos they are horrid

  4. It sounds like fruit flies or gnats.  Check around the house for a bag of potatoes, bananas, garlic, apples, something is going bad in the way of a fruit or veggie.  Find it and remove it.  If its fruit flies, they will most certainly disappear with the tossed fruit/veggies.  If its gnats, check your screens, doors and windows for holes, openings or breakage.  Spray your AROUND your windows, doors and openings into your home with a good insect spray, and repair/fix/replace any of the openings.  I had a window in the kitchen that was simply cracked, but it let all kinds of little bugs in, not to mention the heat and the AC were going right out.  We replaced it when the siding was done and WAHLAH no more bugs.  Its annoying to have them coming into your home, I can relate.  Hope this helps you!  Good luck!

  5. Are they fruit flies? A spray should do the trick.

  6. try putting out a clear glass with a little red wine vinegar in it. It attracts the little flies and they drown.

  7. They're probably fruit flies. You can purchase a nice looking trap from Target. Put some beer in it as an attractant (works better than anything else I've tried), hang it up and watch them enter, fly around in a vain attempt to find they're way out, and die.

  8. I've had the same problem , I know they are extremely annoying . The only way I've been able to get rid of (kill them) is clap with them in between my hands . You might want to wash your hands after woods . The only problem is that they keep coming back !

    Hope this helped
