Anybody know of a box that will do the same job of Sky Plus box??

Question

Have looked into getting a Sky+ box but they dont seem to be doing any deals and £149 + £60 fitting seems a bit steep to me, has anybody got an alternative??

What you want is called a PVR, a personal video recorder. www.pvruk.co.uk has reviews of many current models.

If you already have Sky and want to record Skys pay-tv programmes, your only real option is a Sky+ box. There are other options such as the V+ box for Virgin cable, there some good Freeview PVRs and of course DVD recorders.

However if you must have Sky, pay the money for Sky+. It's far and away the better product and the other products are only fractionally cheaper.
