Anybody know of a personal GPS device that could be attaced to a wheelchair? ?

A person I know uses a wheelchair to get around but cannot speak. He wants a GPS device so that he can be independant but still locatable. Any suggestions.

  1. some phones have the gps in them, it can serve a dual purpose, he could ring someone, even without speaking, in case of emergency.

    and...

    i cant believe i'm actually suggestting this... they have those subcutaneous chips that keep track of people.


  2. Easiest and cheapest overall would be a simple cell phone with text messaging and a keyboard. This would solve several problems.

    If you google GPS person locator you'll get several options with a variety of pros and cons.  

  3. Hey,

    The best option would be a unit called the tomtom RIDER. This is made for a motorbike and has an attachment that would go around the handle bars. It comes with an earpeice as well so that you don't necessarily have to have it blaring.
