Well, he is only a fictional character, but I know that he was 46-0, with 46 knockouts before his first fight with Rocky Balboa.  Rocky was the first to go the distance with him, as well as the first to beat him.  After fighting Rocky twice, his record is 47-1, with 46 knockouts.  His fatal fight with Ivan Drago does not count on his record because it was only an exhibition.  I do not know when he won the heavyweight championship and how many times he defended his title.  Also, before his fight with Rocky, he was looking at Joe Frazier as a potential opponent- this is shown when Frazier enters the ring to shake hands with him before the fight.

He started boxing right after serving in Viet Nam.  He was in the same unit I was in.  We were the  fightingist unit, in the fightingist squad, in the fightingist batallion, in the second fightingist division in the Army.  He won his first Championship in 1973, and went on to defend his title 9,700,586 times.  He was the fightingist boxer ever.

Apollo Creed, aka Carl Weathers has never had any real boxing experience as an amateur or professional. Same thing holds true for Sly Stallone.. I met Carl Weathers when I was in kid in the mid 70s and he told me this himself.. just before the movie "Rocky" debuted. However, he does have some professional football background.. I can't recall which team at the moment..But like any other person with youth and the desire to learn "Back then", he had unlimited potential to be a fighter..

  He was one of the first celebrities that I ever met as a young man.. Since then I have fought as an amateur and professional and the whole moment of meeting Carl Weathers in a YMCA in Oakland, California remains a highlight in my life..

  I'm assuming you do know that  he is an established career actor..
