Hope is right, there have been several documents and tv programs that have proven it exists. If you come within a mile of it, you will be asked to leave by armed men in black suv's. There are also signs that say trespassers will be shot.

It's a government base located around 135 miles away from Las Vegas, Nevada.  No one outside who works there really knows what's going on in there, it's the most top secret base you can find in the world.  

There's some speculation about "aliens" in there, whether or not humans are experimenting on them or if they're reverse-engineering alien ships or if humans and aliens have some sort of understanding going on in there.  Apparently, there's quite a lot of UFO sightings there, and that just increases the rumors.

Personally, I think it's just a top secret base to test new aircraft's and such.  The Stealth's were born and tested there, as were many other weapons.

I do. It's an area inside the government complex at Groom Lake, Nevada (not Arizona) used to study experimental aircraft. When I was working as an engineer for Rockwell International I had a temporary assignment there. Some strange things go on there at night.

It is a place in Nevada desert which back in the 40's the military looked for a remote place with a flat area for a major airfield for secret aircraft development.  The map looked had lines dividing up the Nevada desert into bunch of squares.  At square 51 was a flat dried up lake bed in a most remote area.  So area 51 was designated for this new airbase.  The secrecy of the experiments and strange aircrafts flown at night for stealth and concealment just hyped the aura of the place more with the mysterious generic name Area 51.  Such things as the first stealth fighter the F-111 were based there and flown only at night for years before coming out to the open.  Today such "non-existent" aircraft like the Aura a super secret replacement to the Blackbird spy plane are thought to be hidden there today.  The base has in what satellites can see been expanded in recent years since 9-11.  Just be happy that your government cares enough to keep things concealed from our enemies as well as us.
