  1. Here it is:

    1. LIFR (Low IFR). Ceiling less than 500 feet and/or visibility less than 1 mile.

    2. IFR. Ceiling 500 to less than 1,000 feet and/or visibility 1 to less than 3 miles.

    3. MVFR (Marginal VFR). Ceiling 1,000 to 3,000 feet and/or visibility 3 to 5 miles inclusive.

    4. VFR. Ceiling greater than 3,000 feet and visibility greater than 5 miles; includes sky clear.

  2. LIFR=Ceilings below 500' AGL and/or visibility less than 1SM

    IFR=Ceilings 500'-1000' AGL and/or visibility 1SM-3SM

    MVFR=Ceilings 1000'-3000' AGL and/or visibility 3SM-5SM

    VFR=Ceilings greater than 3000' AGL and visibility greater than 5SM

  5. yeah, instrument flight rules whenever you are operating under them.......weather not a factor.  VFR depends on type of aircraft---fixed wing quite different from rotary wing.

  6. ifr if you are flying under instrument rules whether in imc or not

    any weather

    mvfr meteorological visual flight rule conditions(i think) 5k vis 1000ft  vertical clear of clouds 1500m clear horizontal and 8k vis if above 10000ft

    vfr flying under visual flight rules

    cant remember whether this is ICAO or JAR
